Sit and Go Planet, in association with the StarTracker Database, today released the findings of the world's largest survey of Sit N' Go Poker Tournaments. Covering more than 2.5 million real money poker games and over 500,000 individual players this survey revealed valuable information on who are the real winners in these specialized online poker games.
Sit N Goes are small poker tournaments, usually just a single table, with no scheduled start time. When nine or 10 players join (depending on the poker site) the game begins. The top three places taking a progressively larger share of the total prize money.
"One of the most interesting findings," said Mark Holland of Sit and Go Planet, "was that just 5 percent of Sit N Go Players made 85 percent of the total profits over the survey period." Adding: "This finally dispels the myth that Sit and Go tournaments are less skill-based than other forms of poker. Those players who work to understand the important poker strategy concepts involved are making a great profit -- while the majority of players without this knowledge are actually losing money."
The survey also revealed data on the relationship between the stakes played and over-all return on investment and showed the largest individual win and loss figures during the eight-month survey period.
